Change or Tricks?

In the next 36 hours, the McCain campaign will be spending millions of dollars on negative campaign attack ads against Barack Obama.

The McCain campaign has to spend every last dollar of primary money they've received from Washington lobbyists and special interest PACs
before John McCain accepts the Republican nomination on Thursday.

Yesterday, they aired a new negative ad in 14 swing states. His campaign manager even admitted that all McCain has to rely on is attacks, saying that for them, "This election is not about issues."

He doesn't want Americans to notice that the Republican platform is the most extreme we've ever seen -- opposing stem cell research, denying a woman's right to choose no matter what the circumstance, and continuing to spend $10 billion a month in Iraq.

With so much at stake, can we allow another election to be determined by petty and divisive political tactics?

The McCain campaign is trying to distract voters from the real issues -- so we're going to focus on what they're trying to hide.

They've come out against the life-saving possibilities of stem cell research.

They don't even mention protecting equal pay for equal work.

They support huge tax cuts for the wealthiest 2% of Americans.

They've almost completely ignored the $10 billion we're spending every month in Iraq.

And they make zero exceptions for a woman's right to choose, even in cases of rape, incest, or to protect the life of the mother.

If that all sounds like more of the same, that's because it is. John McCain is offering a another term or two of the disastrous Bush agenda, so it's no wonder his campaign would choose to focus on attacks instead of issues.

The Republicans used fear to get G. W. Bush back into the White House and they will try to do it again along with their cries that Obama has no experience. Do not be fooled nor held in a state of fear. This country will be fine under the leadership of Obama. Many other countries abroad already feel more comfortable knowing that Obama might become our president. This means change in our relationships around the world. Surrounding himself with some of the best advisors as most presidents do, Obama will get this country moving in the right direction. He will bring about the changes that we need.
All of the tricks that the McCain camp are using will not work as long as we do our part and be a part of real history and real change. McCain picked Sarah Palin as a ploy, but will it work. It seems that it might blow up in his face. Sarah Palin seems to have rendered judgments firing an individual (a brother inlaw) based on on personal bias. Is this the kind of experience you want.
Concerning his negative ads just check this out:

Barack Obama hit John McCain on Wednesday over a comment from his campaign manager that the presidential race will be decided more on personalities than on issues.

“Which probably explains why last night when they were speaking, all these speakers [at the Republican National Convention] came up, you didn’t hear a single word about the economy,” Obama said at an economic forum in New Philadelphia, Ohio. “Not once did people mention the hardships that people are going through.”

“I guess I don’t blame them,” Obama added, “because if you don’t have any issues to run on, you want it all to be about personality. If you have got George Bush’s track record and John McCain voting 90 percent of the time in agreement with George Bush, then you probably you don’t want to talk about issues either.”

McCain campaign manager Rick Davis told Washington Post editors Tuesday that issues will have an impact on undecided voters but will not be conclusive.

“This election is not about issues,” Davis said. “This election is about a composite view of what people take away from these candidates.”

You make up your mind. Do you want tricks and dirty tactics or real change? You decide!
