The Media & Our Minds!

Some of us live our lives in ignorance and don't really understand what is going on around us. We tend to get sucked into silly notions , absurd conspiracies, and the grips of fear. How? By way of the media, our schoolmates, our teachers, and our parents and families.
First we begin with our parents and family. When we are children most of what we learn comes from our parents and family along side the shows that we watch on T.V. Much of the way we view the world comes from what we see, hear, smell, and touch. The input of the data is from what our parents and family provide. What they tell us & show us directly, what we hear them say, what we see them do, and what we we see and hear on the T.V. help to develop our minds. If we constantly hear those around us speak about certain things like family money problems being caused by a certain political group, hatred towards other races or ethnic groups, religious rhetoric, and/or feelings of being treated bad compared to other groups then we will grow up believing this to be reality whether or not it is true. When we get to school and start to get our data from a variety of people, places, and things. This further shapes your out look on life while it does it expand it. The messages you are receiving all of your life tend to come from TV, Radio & your parents. So if you always see on TV the violence of your town and state and it tends to be mostly black people doing criminal acts then you will view blacks as criminal and violent. This goes for both blacks and non-blacks. If most of the shows you watch show whites in positive roles while the news and show and movies show blacks doing negative while being taught from parents, family, and friends that blacks are no good then you will have almost no choice but to see blacks as being negative people. This applies to both blacks and non-blacks. Combine this with being taught that educated, well spoken, and rich blacks are acting white and are sell outs and you have a self hating black person. Now imagine the way whites who know this will view and treat you. They know that you hate yourself and feel unwanted in this society and therefore look down on you. Some play upon it while some feel sorry for you. Others will not and will dog you every step of the way. {2 Be Continued...}
