UPS GUY CAUGHT ON TAPE STEALING IPAD MINI

UPS GUY CAUGHT ON TAPE STEALING IPAD MINI

The Grinch and Scrooge may have some company this year in the form of a UPS driver. When Al Alverson of Harris County in Houston, TX ordered an iPad mini to give to his daughter for Christmas, the package was delivered by a FedEx courier. Not much later, a UPS driver came to deliver a different package. After dropping off his delivery, the UPS driver saw the iPad mini, examined it, then took off with the package like it was his. Unfortunately for him, the whole act was caught by a security camera.

The Houston father complained to UPS but did not receive sufficient help, so he then posted the footage on YouTube. Since the video went viral, UPS acted swiftly and replaced the father's iPad mini order, identified the delivery man (he was a part-time employee hired to help with holiday deliveries) and fired him immediately. He was arrested and charged with theft by the Harris County Sheriff's Office, but Alverson, in a very forgiving act of holiday kindness, has since decided not to press charges because the driver eventually returned the package.
